Art Contest: "Student Abstract 2019" with exhibition and art grant


Art-Competition.online is proud to announce the international art call for an exhibition and Art Grant "Abstract 2019". For this student group exhibition, the curators are seeking art of any subject created as abstraction.

  • This contest is for high school and younger students, if you are a  college student or above,  please see our other contests for your student level.
  • Ten student  artists will be selected for an online group exhibit, "ABSTRACT 2019"; the exhibit and artists will be extensively marketed on this website and over the internet, including YouTube.  In this exhibit the selected artist's art along with the artists name, title of the art and size of the art will be displayed.
  • One artist’s work will be selected to receive the “Kelly O'Rourke Art Grant” of $50. This artist’s work will become the image of the exhibition and will be used on the invitation, video title screen and on all online presentations.
  • Ten artists will receive an art contest certificate through the Art-Competition.online website and will be available for life.

Theme and Selection:

The artwork needs to be abstraction, where the image shows the artist creative views so that there is little or no representation of the real world.  The composition elements of the work must rely on form, color, shapes, action, lines, marks, and texture to create a purely abstract work that engages the viewer and draws them into the intention of the artist’s work. Artwork will be evaluated based on the creativity and uniqueness of the vision conveyed, the quality of execution, the interpretation and portrayal of the theme, and how clearly the artist's individual technique/style is presented in the chosen medium.

All submissions, which can be expressed from abstract, are welcome. The artists and exhibit will be extensively marketed on Art-Competition.online website.  We look forward to receiving your works.

Eligibility: This competition is open to all artists and photographers 18 and younger.  Art Submission and entry fees paid must be entered by a person 18 years or older.  Entries must be created in a still medium: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art.

  • Submission Deadline: May 13, 2019 (12:00 Midnight EST)
  • Curator Selection: on or before May 17, 2019
  • Artist Notification: on or before May 20, 2019

Art Contest: "2019 Portraits" Cash prizes


Art-Competition.online is announcing the student & beginner art contest “2019 Portraits”. There will be 5 Winners and 5 Honorable Mentions. This competition is open to all student and beginner artists and photographers worldwide. The participant can submit any still art medium, including: painting, drawing, collage, photography, digital art, and fiber art.

Total Awards in Cash and Website Advertising Prize Value: $900.00.

Theme and Selection:

The visual narrative of the student artist's work should reveal inner essence of the subject or a flattering representation, not just a literal likeness. The artist generally attempts to represent an expression in great portraiture of character and moral quality, not anything temporary, fleeting, or accidental. Artists may strive for photographic realism or an impressionistic similarity in depicting their subject.
